Description
On the Northern Peninsula at the very top of South America, the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta Mountains sit between the Carribean Sea and Venezuela. These mountains are the ancestral home of the Arhuaco indigenous people who consider the area to be the 'Heart of the World'. Due to it's historical and cultural significance, it was declared a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve in 1979. Grown under natural shade trees including Guamo, Oak, Cedar and Banana, the Arhuacos believe that everything has its place in nature and this spiritual philosophy guides their farming practices. Hence this coffee is grown organically using fertilisation and pest control methods that are in keeping with the spiritual beliefs of the farmers. Suitable for all brewing methods this coffee has sweet, nutty chocolate and fruity flavours with a medium acidity and creamy body.
