Description
Located in the El Salvadorean speciality coffee heartland of the Apaneca-Ilamatepec mountian range, the Alfaro family have grown coffee here for over a century. An extremely well-run speciality estate that is managed with scrupulous attention to detail and great emphasis is placed on maintaining the identity of each lot from the moment the cherries are harvested until the green beans are ready for export. Handpicked when perfectly ripe and processed the same day, once the coffee is dried it is then left to 'rest' for 60 days under controlled conditions. The outcome of this is a juicy cup with flavours of cherry, chocolate and a butterscotch sweetness that is a rare profile for a honey processed coffee. Suitable for all brewing methods.
Winner of a 2 Star great Great Taste Award in the Espresso Category and a 1 Star in the Cafetiere/Filter Category in 2021. The judges said "This coffee has a good even roast and a really clean taste with well rounded and balanced acidity and a lovely biscuity finish."
