Sulawesi Kalosi SULOTCO
Dark chocolate, strawberries and walnuts£3.95
An old favourite of ours that can be exceedingly hard to come by, this particular example of the famed Kalosi coffee is grown organically on the largest privately owned coffee plantation in Indonesia at altitudes of 1500-1700 metres above sea level on the slopes of Mount Rante Karua. Sulotco has long had a reputation as one of the premium coffees grown on the island of Sulawesi, which is one of the largest islands of Indonesia and known for its rich volcanic soil and lush vegetation and wildlife. The majority of Sulotco coffee is stil grown by independent smallholders on family owned plots and processed using the traditional wet hulling technique which Indonesia is famed for. This is a complex coffee, noted for its low acidity and earthy flavour with many layers of flavour starting off with dark chocolate, progressing to walnuts and ending with a beautiful strawberry finish. Great as a single origin espresso or brewed as cafetiere, filter or aeropress, particularly good served after dinner.
