SHG stands for Strictly High Grown which means that the coffee must be grown at or above altitudes of 1350 metres above sea level. At higher altitudes, the temperatures are lower which produces a slower maturing fruit and a denser bean. This results in the sweet, fruity flavours associated with Central American coffees being more pronounced. There are orange and red grape flavours with a velvety mouthfeel and a wonderfully smooth finish. Also present are hints of milk chocolate and Brazil nuts with a sugar cane sweetness. We particularly like this coffee made using the pour over filter method but also makes great cafetiere coffee and is perfect for those who prefer a milder tasting coffee.
